Hydraulic Governors

Governor is the most important device in an engine that controls the speed automatically in the defined limits. It keeps the engine running at a steady speed with the control of fuel supply irrespective of load.

Repairing a hydraulic governor on a diesel engine requires high precision, cleanliness, and understanding of the specific governor type. Hydraulic governors use oil pressure to actuate the fuel rack, making clean, pressurized oil essential for operation.

Our workshop is equipped with state-of-the-art test equipment that give us the most efficient and precise way to examine components. We use specialized test benches to analyze hydraulic governor performances.

Before dismantling the governor our expert technicians check the engine to identify if the issue is a simple adjustment or an internal failure.

Once we receive a governor in our premises following steps are taken:

  • Governor is placed on the test bench and is given a test run on an “as-received” condition to identify any issues and record operating performance
  • Our experts dismantle the governor, clean the parts with an ultrasonic cleaner, and thoroughly inspect it.
  • Spare parts necessary for the completion of the overhaul are reported and quoted to our customer for information and approval
  • Governor is assembled with new parts and repair kits.
  • Reconditioned governor is placed on the test bench, adjusted according to the manufacturer’s specifications, and tested according to the testing protocol and checklist of the maker.
